Naturopathic Physician
Dr. Leah Linarelli has been driven by constant curiosities and hunger for knowledge regarding human health and wellness. This led her to double major in biology and Human Nutrition, Foods & Exercise at Virginia Tech, where she could learn the innerworkings at the microscopic and cellular level to then be applied to the whole person.
Initially, her path was set for Allopathic Medical school, but as she began learning more about how the body worked, she began questioning her own care with her chronic health issues. Some of these issues included PCOS, acne, pre-diabetes, chronic fatigue, chronic sinusitis, digestive issues, skin rashes, hair loss and positive lupus antibodies. After being sent to specialist after specialist and given multiple prescriptions, not one doctor tried to delve into the root cause or connect the dots between the symptoms. While in the processes of interviewing for medical schools, she walked away from the profession, disheartened by the current medical system. After this decision, she moved west and became a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, metabolic technician and behavior change specialist for Lifetime Fitness. This route allowed her to transform her own health and wellness as well as hundreds of others through food, exercise, and quality supplementation.
While in Arizona, she learned about Naturopathic Medicine, a form of medicine that supports our body’s own healing processes, addresses the root cause and treats the person as a whole. She fell in love with this model and the rest is history. Dr. Leah attended the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she graduated top of her class. She finds joy in helping patients with hormonal imbalances (PCOS, acne, irregular menses, painful periods, heavy bleeding, low libido, peri/post menopausal symptoms, low thyroid and adrenal fatigue), digestive issues (SIBO, constipation, diarrhea, IBS, stomach pain, etc.), autoimmune conditions (Hashimoto, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, crohn’s ulcerative colitis), and metabolic dysfunction (pre-diabetes/diabetes, high cholesterol, stubborn weight loss, and fatigue). Her goal is to take patients through their own journey of self-discovery and healing so that they can achieve optimum health and pursue the things that bring them joy.
